History

The Milpitas NJROTC program was established at the former Samuel Ayer High School in 1977, in Milpitas, California. Initially with a class of only 25 cadets, the program has grown throughout the years to today's enrollment of approximately 140. Milpitas High School's NJROTC drill teams are well known and distinguished for their record in competitions within the Bay Area and also for having outstanding military bearing amongst the rest of the schools. The program helps build leaders and good citizens for the future. It teaches discipline as well as responsibility. The unit's Senior Naval Science Instructor (SNSI) is LCDR Queen, Jeff and the Naval Science Instructor (NSI) is SCPO Ezell, Ivan. For the 2007 - 2008 School year, the Cadet Commanding Officer is C/LCDR Montemayor, Nick and the Executive Officer is C/LTJG Bangsal, Jonathan.
